A Transplantable Beryllium-Induced Chondrosarcoma of Rabbits

Abstract

Intravenous injections of zinc beryllium silicate induced the formation of a chondrosarcoma in the tibia of a rabbit. This tumor metastasized to the lungs. Both the primary and the metastatic tumors were successfully transplanted to the anterior chamber of the eyes of six rabbits. The histological appearance of the primary tumors and of the transplanted tumors is described.
