Orthopaedic surgery is no exception, as the topic has recently reached prominence in our literature and policies1,3,6,7. It is unlikely that professionalism is a universal and innate characteristic of college students entering medical school, yet it becomes a necessary value in medical practice. Somewhere in the ongoing process of medical education, the issue must be addressed.
