Since 1979, when MacSween4 was the first, as far as we know, to describe the case of a patient with proximal radioulnar translocation, also known as convergent elbow dislocation, twelve cases of this very uncommon elbow dislocation4-16 have been reported in children. Initial failure to recognize the true nature of the lesion is characteristic8-11,14. With misdiagnosis, delayed treatment may lead to a poor functional result8. We report the cases of three children with proximal radioulnar dislocation and suggest a pathophysiologic mechanism of injury for this rare condition. The parents of the patients were informed that data concerning the case would be submitted for publication, and they consented.
