In a recent review of cases submitted for Part II of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery certification examination, CPT code 29881 (partial meniscectomy) was the most commonly submitted procedural code for five consecutive years between 1999 to 2003, surpassing the next most frequent procedure by a margin of 2:11.
