TY - JOUR T1 - Isolated Dislocation of the Peroneus Longus Tendon Over the Calcaneal Tubercle in an Ice SkaterA Case Report AU - El Rassi, George AU - Kouvalchouk, Jean-Francois AU - Mcfarland, Edward Y1 - 2012/04/04 N1 - 10.2106/JBJS.J.01786 JO - The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery SP - e43 1 EP - 4 VL - 94 IS - 7 N2 - To the best of our knowledge, Monteggia1 reported the first case of traumatic peroneal tendon dislocation over the lateral malleolus in a ballet dancer in 1803. Although commonly seen after skiing injuries, peroneal tendon dislocation has also been described in athletes involved in a wide variety of sports, including basketball, football, and ice skating2-5. We believe that all previously reported cases have involved dislocation of the peroneal tendons over the lateral malleolus after injury of the superior peroneal retinaculum.
