They state that "we have demonstrated that open reduction and plate fixation is a better way to treat intra-articular distal radial fractures," yet the evidence provided in the paper is conflicting and is unsupportive of this conclusion. In fact, the evidence suggested only a marginal benefit, of doubtful clinical importance, on the basis of a scoring system that is not validated for these fractures1 and a radiographic outcome score2 in the AO C2 subgroup.
