Although skeletal tuberculosis is uncommon in developed countries, several conditions, of which the orthopaedic surgeon should be aware, predispose patients to mycobacterial shoulder infections. We report a case of Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection of the shoulder that occurred thirty-seven years after a shoulder hemiarthroplasty. The patient was informed that data concerning the case would be submitted for publication, and he consented.
