TY - JOUR T1 - Twenty-Year Follow-up of Monostotic Fibrous Dysplasia of the Second Cervical VertebraA Case Report and Review of the Literature AU - Meredith, Dennis S. AU - Healey, John H. Y1 - 2011/07/06 N1 - 10.2106/JBJS.J.01881 JO - The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery SP - e74 1 EP - 7 VL - 93 IS - 13 N2 - We present a twenty-year follow-up report on a patient with monostotic fibrous dysplasia of C2 treated with posterior spinal fusion from C1 to C3. The short-term results of this case have been presented previously1. This is one of the longest durations of follow-up of monostotic fibrous dysplasia of the spine reported in the literature, and it demonstrated monostotic fibrous dysplasia extending through the fusion mass to involve a previously unaffected vertebra. This behavior may provide new insight into the pathophysiology of fibrous dysplasia. SN - 0021-9355 M3 - doi: 10.2106/JBJS.J.01881 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.2106/JBJS.J.01881 ER -
