Y1 - 2011/07/20 N1 - 10.2106/JBJS.J.01714 JO - The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery SP - e79 1 EP - 4 VL - 93 IS - 14 N2 - Physeal bar excision is a well-accepted procedure for reestablishing growth of a physis that has a premature partial arrest in a growing child. Presented here is a long-term follow-up of what is believed to be the first case of a physeal bar excision of an epiphysis documenting a gain in longitudinal length, and the first with long-term follow-up on a patient who had reached maturity. The long-term result was unchanged and durable in adulthood. The patient gave permission for this information to be submitted for publication.
