TY - JOUR T1 - Surgical Reconstruction of a Crush Injury of the Talar BodyA Case Report AU - Daghino, Walter AU - Di Gregorio, Giuseppe AU - Cerlon, Raul Y1 - 2011/07/20 N1 - 10.2106/JBJS.J.01358 JO - The Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery SP - e80 1 EP - 5 VL - 93 IS - 14 N2 - Fractures of the talar body can have devastating results despite treatment. While talar body fractures are uncommon, they have worse outcomes than do other fractures of the talus, including more osteonecrosis and posttraumatic arthritis1,2. Crush injuries are the most difficult to treat as a result of a very constrained anatomy, the comminution of the fracture fragments, and articular cartilage damage. These fractures are challenging to reconstruct and stabilize and often have poor outcomes3. SN - 0021-9355 M3 - doi: 10.2106/JBJS.J.01358 UR - http://dx.doi.org/10.2106/JBJS.J.01358 ER -
