As we reported in this study1 and in our 2004 biomechanical study2, which validated this reconstruction technique, it is important to recognize that the popliteofibular ligament forms a 38° proximomedial angle as it courses off the fibula3 to its attachment at the popliteus musculotendinous junction, and this is the angle that our popliteofibular ligament reconstruction graft makes when it enters the tibia1,2.
